Hi, my name is Linn Wilson. If you are reading this you are probably considering using me to troubleshoot your computer problem, and may be a little nervous about trusting someone you don't know with your machine. I hope the following information will alleviate some of those fears.
First, why is it called Kyle’s Computer Repair when my name is Linn? My son Kyle started the business as a side job while working on his computer science degree. Just prior to this, my IT help desk job at a large defense contractor was moved to Tennessee, so I was out of work. This gave me time to help Kyle set up his new business. Kyle was very good with his customers, and they were leaving him excellent reviews on Google and Yelp causing the business to grow quickly. Soon there was more work than he could handle while working on his computer science degree, and I began filling in for him. I now own the company but could not change the name due to the high Google rankings he had achieved. Kyle has finished his degree and is now working for another company, but he still finds time to help out if I get swamped.
While researching what Kyle should charge for computer repair, We discovered that others were charging $150-$200 to remove spyware and viruses. We understood that companies with high overhead costs needed to charge more, but we also knew these rates were higher than many homeowners could afford. Because, I work from home, I can do quality computer repair for much, much less.
I have a great deal of experience working with PCs, and have owned one since the early 1980’s. I still have a Tandy RadioShack TRS80 computer, with a whopping 48K of RAM, collecting dust in the garage. My wife would like me to get rid of it, but someday it may be in a museum :). Before working with Kyle, I worked (for 8 years) in the IT Help Desk of a very large technology company with over 40,000 employees. I have several Microsoft certifications including an MCSE, MCP+I and MCP.
